​​My favorite section of the course was "Section 1 : Presentation" and how powerful our non-verbal cues and body language can be in our communication. I went on Vanessa Van Edwards' website and found this quote, "People Skills are the New Career Skills". That is so true! As a current Human Resources Manager, I get to help our staff develop their communication skills and emotional intelligence skills to enhance their customer service and teamwork. I also watched Vanessa's TED talk titled "You are contagious". It's a wonderful reminder of the impact we can have on both ourselves and others when we authentically smile, give a friendly wave with both hands, or strike a power pose before an important meeting. My goal is to radiate a presence of positivity and friendliness for those around me! This course was very insightful and educational!

I loved the ability to pause the videos, switch tabs, and take notes digitally. Providing that option embodied the "above and beyond" characteristic taught in the course. I also appreciated the thought provoking questions allowing me to reflect and create some action items for myself following the completion of the course. The thing I enjoyed learning about most were the essential components of communication. It reaffirmed a few things I do well, as well as a few areas for improvement.
